SSI Schäfer was contracted to elaborate a concept and to plan the modernisation and refurbishment of the existing distribution centre at Gehe Pharma Handel GmbH.

Based on the existing warehouse processes, the goal of the project was to optimise order handling capacity and quality by using a high degree of automation:

Process like insertion of notes, most of the picking, labelling, insertion of invoices, check-weighing and finally lidding, are now handled automatically. A seperate refrigerated area, as well as different solutions for special products, were naturally considered while designing the system.

The results were the fast throughput times for more than 75,000 in store articles, increase of the order processing´s quality and hence a competitice advantage.
